How to Defend in 2 Player Raid Tycoon
Walls, lasers, turrets, guard rolls, and co-op home roles that save vaults.
Why defense wins lobbies
In 2 Player Raid Tycoon, offense prints highlight clips; defense prints net worth. Every successful enemy raid deletes minutes of dropper work. This guide shows how to layer walls, laser doors, turrets, and guards (Rare / Epic / Legendary) so raiders pay for every step toward your vault.
Read alongside How to Raid (know the attack script you are breaking) and Factory Building (defense without income is a pretty cardboard box).
Defense layers that matter
Think in layers, not single purchases:
- Perimeter walls — force pathing into chokepoints you chose
- Laser doors — punish tunnel vision on the main hall
- Turrets — chip raiders while they fight power
- Guards — mobile/body blockers with rarity spikes
- Player bodies — you and your partner as the final layer
Skip layers and skilled duos walk a straight line: power → vault → home. Stack layers and even strong flamethrower/rocket pushes slow down long enough for you to rotate.
Walls: shape the fight
Walls are not wallpaper. Place them to:
- Deny wide peeks into your power room
- Create a single “loud” doorway you can pre-aim
- Buy seconds while you leave King of the Hill
After each raid on your base, repair first. Fresh cash from Codes or a successful counter-raid should refill broken segments before cosmetic floors. A vault with art deco lighting and open walls is still free money.
Laser doors: the panic tax
Laser doors shine when raiders are greedy. Put them on the route between power and vault so attackers who won the power fight still eat damage on the way to loot. Call “laser up” in chat when you repurchase after a break so your partner does not face-tank friendly denial while rotating home.
If lasers feel weak mid-fight, attackers probably pressured power—another reason to contest power rooms early instead of camping the vault blind.
Turrets: set-and-forget pressure
Turrets reward good sightlines. Prefer angles that see:
- The common entry stairs/ramp
- Power approach lanes
- Vault mouth (without shooting only the floor)
Do not dump every coin into overlapping turrets while droppers starve. One well-placed turret plus walls often beats three turrets in the same corner. Reassess after the Predator Missile meta—blast tools punish clumped hardware, so spread placements when possible.
Guards: Rare, Epic, Legendary
Guards are rolled/rarity-gated defenders. Treat rarity as priority, not fashion:
- Rare — early body blocker; place on the first choke
- Epic — mid-game upgrade; cover power or vault mouth
- Legendary — save for the highest-traffic break point
Full ranking notes: Guards Tier List. Until you understand spawns, any guard online beats a perfect plan with zero guards. Re-roll chasing only Legendary while your doorway is empty is how rich attackers farm you.
Partner roles on defense
Co-op defense beats solo heroics. Suggested splits from Players:
Anchor
Stays near vault/power, repairs lasers/walls, calls incoming.
Rover
Contests Air Drops / KotH / Oddball, but sprints home on “raid” calls.
Swap rule
After you survive a heavy hit, swap who anchors so both learn the sightlines.
Three short calls save bases: “raid mid,” “power,” “need repair.” Long speeches happen after the vault is safe.
Defending during events
Events fire every few minutes:
- Double Cash — anchor stays; rover only leaves if walls are healthy
- King of the Hill / Oddball — never send both if a geared duo is missing from the event
- Air Drops — treat as optional if your vault was just cracked
Attackers love event bait. If the whole lobby piles on Oddball, assume someone is walking into your power room.
Revenge and airstrike windows
After you crack someone else (see How to Raid), play paranoid defense for a minute. Revenge rushes and airstrike-style payback punish winners who instantly re-dive. Checklist:
- Both players touch home
- Repair walls/lasers
- Confirm turret alive
- Guard positioned on the broken entry
- Only then spend on the next weapon unlock (Weapons)
Early, mid, late defense goals
Early — one choke wall, first laser or turret, accept Rare guards
Mid — layered path to vault, Epic guard on power or vault, partner anchor during raids
Late — Legendary on the break point, spread turrets, disciplined event rotations, missile-aware spacing
Use Getting Started if you are still unlocking the idea of floors; defense buttons often appear as you climb, so eco progress unlocks safer homes.
Drills that build habits
- Survive one full enemy raid without leaving the pad.
- Repair to full within 30 seconds of a break.
- Hold Double Cash with one partner AFK-safe on anchor.
- Beat a revenge attempt using calls only—no silent panic.

Defense is a tempo tax. Make raiders spend time, bullets, and missiles. The longer they stay in your halls, the more your droppers earn—and the more likely their own base burns behind them.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for codes, raids, defenses, and co-op play.
What should I build first for defense?
Create a wall choke, add a laser door or turret on the main route, then place any available guard on that doorway before optimizing rarity.
How do Rare, Epic, and Legendary guards differ?
They are rarity tiers. Prioritize higher rarities on the busiest break point, but field lower rarities immediately if the door is empty.
Should both players defend during events?
Usually no. Keep an anchor home during Double Cash or when geared enemies skip the event, and send a rover only when the base is stable.
Why did my lasers feel useless mid-raid?
Attackers likely pressured power. Contest the power room and repair lasers after breaks instead of only camping the vault.
How do I prepare for revenge after I raid someone?
Return together, repair walls and lasers, confirm turrets and guards, hold briefly, then spend new cash.
